I’m Daniel Mollenkamp, a longtime independent journalist.

This newsletter has been on pause. That’s in part because I’ve been running “Biz,” the flagship newsletter for EdSurge, a national nonprofit newsroom that covers the human impact of changes to the education system in the U.S. That left little room in my schedule.

But Biz — perhaps the most established newsletter tracking private dollars in education — was recently sold. This is my last week producing it.

Luckily, that means that “The Stringer” will be back starting next week, September 16th.

Starting then, this newsletter will relaunch its weekly news roundup. This newsletter tracks changes to political, economic and cultural systems and their human impacts.
